The role of social networks and institutional support in cluster formation

One recent project focuses on the emergence of a new manufacturing cluster in central China. Based on extensive fieldwork, the study involved interviews with all firms and key suppliers in the cluster, as well as local officials, in order to document the industry’s formation process and firm-level experience. This project reflects my broader interest in industry research grounded in close observation of firms, production networks, and sector dynamics.
